[23/04/2010] The Chemical Safety Report plugin is available for IUCLID 5.2
Registration dossiers for substances manufactured/imported above 10 tons/year shall include a Chemical Safety Report (CSR). A IUCLID plug-in was implemented during 2009 for version 5.1 to help in the preparation of sections 1 to 7 of the CSR. These sections of the CSR cover the identity of the substance; its physical and chemical properties; information on manufacture and use; classification and labelling of the substance; and the hazard assessment.
The CSR plugin has now been adapted to IUCLID 5.2.
This plug-in has the following functionality:
- Extraction of data from a IUCLID 5 data set or dossier in order to prepare the CSR. The rules for the selection of data relevant to the CSR are fixed.
- Generation of a structured XML or RTF document from the extracted data. The document is an initial CSR based on the CSR template published on the ECHA website (http://echa.europa.eu/web/guest/support/guidance-on-reach-and-clp-implementation/formats). The user is able to edit the document manually, for example, to add or update data.
A comprehensive user manual has also been updated and can be downloaded here. It provides insight into the kind of information the CSR plugin extracts from IUCLID 5 data sets or dossiers and the principal rules underlying the automatic generation of an initial CSR document. It also provides tips on how to minimise the amount of manual revision required to a CSR document by optimising the data entry in its IUCLID 5 source data set.
