[15/02/2010] IUCLID 5.2 is now available
IUCLID 5.2 is now available for download.
The new version of IUCLID includes several updates of the OECD Harmonised Templates used to report information from studies on chemicals. The latest revisions of the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling and of its European implementation (the CLP Regulation) have also been integrated. Sections 3.2, 3.5 and 3.6 have been overhauled for reporting information on uses and the endpoint summaries where experts can store the outcome of their evaluation per endpoint have also been extended in order to optimise the use of IUCLID with chemical assessment tools.
In addition several functionalities have been enhanced in IUCLID 5.2. The bulk export and the management of the Literature References Inventory functionalities that were available as plugins in previous versions of IUCLID are now part of the application. In a same way the backup plugin recently published for IUCLID 5.0/5.1 is now fully integrated in IUCLID 5.2.
The creation of the dossier header has been enhanced in line with various requests from users.
Finally, the Web Service that can be used for interfacing IUCLID with external systems has been updated for IUCLID 5.2 and the new version is available for download.
Installation of IUCLID 5.2
If applicable, it is recommended to keep the previous version of IUCLID and to install IUCLID 5.2 in parallel. By doing so, the transfer of data from the previous version to the new one will be facilitated.
For more information, installation manuals are included in the installation packages of the distributed and standalone versions of IUCLID 5.2.
The requirements for IUCLID 5.2 are slightly different from previous versions: support for Java 5.0 has been ceased. IUCLID 5.2.0 can only be executed using a Java 1.6 Virtual Machine or higher. To check the Java version installed on your computer and download the latest one, please go to http://java.com.
Migration of data
To transfer data from a previous installation, first use the backup plugin to save a copy of the IUCLID 5.0/5.1 database. IUCLID 5.2 includes a built-in feature for importing such a back-up. Please refer to the user manual of the backup plugin for more information.
More information on the installation and migration process is available in the FAQ.
